Retrospective 2022, the Founder's letter

There's so much to say about this 1st full year for Resilience, this word has completely changed my life.

I've gone from a girl who trusted others a little too much and herself too little, to a proud, upright entrepreneur in the space of just one year, without a psychology book, personal development book or bullshit magic recipe... But with experimentation, and for that you have to be prepared to roll up your sleeves and pick yourself up.

Resilience was born of pain, and I clearly started out with rage, after being confronted with all the things I hate most: dishonesty and injustice. But the good thing about failure is that you only have two options: mope or accept it, get up and fight.

So I decided to use that rage to create something bigger, much bigger than what I'd lost, to invest in myself and trust myself rather than let myself be convinced that I couldn't do it alone. And today, I can look at myself in the mirror, I know who I am, I know my values, I know I've done it all with righteousness, honesty and respect.

That's what we call Resilience!

My company now has 3 employees on permanent contracts, and it's important to make this clear. I don't have any trainees or alternating work experience, and I'm not in the business of taking advantage of the system, of subsidies, or of exploiting others. As Kerry James would say, " I'm not relying on the state, I'm relying on ourselves ". The employees who joined us were all beginners at their jobs, so they learned, I was able to pass on the knowledge I had and pay them properly for their work, because all work deserves a wage.

Today, I earn a good living, I'm fulfilled and my employees are happy.

When you succeed, people often talk about luck. I've worked like a dog for 365 days to get to this point, and my mind hasn't had a moment's rest. I had enough ambition and passion to make these sacrifices, but can you really talk about sacrifice when you love what you do every day, when you get up with the desire to succeed?

Was everything easy and successful? If you think you can succeed without a hitch, you're mistaken. Being an entrepreneur means spending your time finding solutions to problems. If you're doing this to relax, to have time for yourself and do what you want, you clearly don't understand the principle of entrepreneurship.

With success, people often want to believe that you lack humility, that you've taken shortcuts (yes, I've heard people say that I sell drugs), but now all this makes me laugh. It often comes from people who don't know you and who envy you because they've got nothing more than their jealousy, you've succeeded where they've failed.

I still have my dark side, and trust and friendship are a bit at half-mast with me now, or at least with a lot of hindsight, but I'm trying to improve, to tell myself that the world isn't populated only by ingrates.

As a reminder, the brand Resilience Skill is part of the company Dioxyjen Graphic, which is my initial company of web design and graphic design, I give you the balance 2022 :

  • 3 permanent employees and 1 manager
  • 13 websites created
  • 20 other sites undergoing year-round maintenance
  • 327 customized textile orders delivered
  • 27,689 customized textile parts manufactured
  • 142 professional partners who put their trust in us
  • A presence at 16 events throughout France
  • 4 collections created
  • 10,847 textiles counted, stored and put online
  • 22 ambassadors wearing our colors

Now it's time for gratitude🙏🏻. I'd like to thank a lot of people without whom this wouldn't have been possible...

My family, of course, who supported me from day one.

My sister, who worked with me all year and did an amazing job.

Roxane and Tiffany from the team who were involved, passionate about the work I gave them.

The fewfriends who stayed and supported me.

My suppliers and service providers have become true partners who have supported us throughout the year.

All the owners, our loyal partners who work with us.

All the competition organizers who have invited us to their events.

All the e-commerce customers who place their trust in us, individuals and professionals alike.

And our fabulous ambassadors who put us in the spotlight and support our projects all year round. 🫶🏻

This year has also been punctuated by some lovely encounters with brands or services dedicated to CrossFit... I'm thinking of Training distribution, French Guys, Curesty, Mana, Nocco France, Atom CBD, Julien Deville, Training thérapie, Fred de Helio, Melissa Touch Grafik, the Mazette team, Tom JanVillemonteil... We hope to see you again in 2023.

I also wanted to say a few words to some of our competitors, whom I appreciate very much, because this competition is great and serves to pull us all upwards. Each with his own universe, while respecting the work of others.

  • The two Bro brothers with their increasingly classy collections
  • Our Asian sisters from Spirited Minded with their crazy universe
  • My friend Isabelle from Cocoqrx, who offers superb designs and organic textiles.
  • Just Hang's buddy, who makes beautiful "badass" graphics

Well done to us, because in all humility it's all thanks to us 😄

Let's go 2023
